A month after leaving Banorte Bank, Alejandro Valenzuela has been named director of Banco Azteca, a low cost conglomerate owned by Ricardo Salinnas Pliego. The bank is part of a low cost store Elektra which caters to lower income families. Elektra is a financial and commercial services company that has presence throughout Latin America and offers short term loans in the United States.
Valenzuela has over 20 years in experience in the financial sector in Mexico. Before joining Banorte, he worked for the state Banmexico and the Treasury Ministry.
