Now that the energy reform transformed Pemex into a production company, the conglomerate is ready to undergo a reorganization. According to Jorge de la Huerta, deputy director of natural gas, the company will be divided into various sectors that would permit it to grow and generate higher dividends. Two subsidiaries will be created, one is Pemex Exploration and Production which will be in charge of finding and extracting hydrocarbons and will be able to participate in future project bidding.
The other area will be Industrial Transformation, which will treat, refine and process the oil and gas it will obtain from oil sites. This section will also commercialize and distribute oil products to clients who work with Pemex, such as the gas stations PEMEX.
